If it’s fun you’re looking for, Downtown Sterling offers an abundance of activities and events throughout the year. Sterling’s downtown district is a diverse mix of shopping, services, culture and dining. he Sterling Municipal Band fills the streets of downtown with “Music Under the Stars” every Wednesday evening during the summer at the historic Grandon Civic Center in Central Memorial Park. Our spring Car Show kicks off event season and has grown to include 4 cruise-in style events, Rally on the Rock, held  throughout the summer. We’ll be celebrating America’s 250th in 2026 by introducing the new Sterling Street Fest block party style event in July!  Hot Dog Day has been a unique tradition in Downtown Sterling since 1976! The Sauk Valley Area Chamber spotlights the community’s rich Hispanic heritage with the annual Fiesta Parade each September. Hops on Rock, our October craft beer festival, was established in 2017 and has become one of our signature annual events! Enjoy the unique indoor Twin City Farmers Market which is open year-round in the historic Twin City Produce Building. Seasonal Sights & Sounds kicks off our holiday season in early December!
